During this very special time in a woman’s life, many will opt to use natural remedies for symptoms associated with pregnancy. Essential oils have been used safely for centuries.
What are essential oils? Essential oils are the aromatic, volatile liquids distilled from plants.
How do you use essential oils? Inhaled, topically and/or diffused. Inhaled by putting a drop or two into your hand, rub hands together, then cup over the nose and mouth and inhale for 6-8 minutes. Topically added to a carrier oil and applied directly to the area of need. Diffused by adding a few drops to a diffuser and running it intermittently or continuously.
Brand does matter. How the plants are grown, the soil, what is put on or not during growing, harvesting practices, how they are distilled and what they are distilled in all has an effect on the efficacy of the oils, and what, if anything, is also in the oil. This is where you are going to see the safety of the oils differ. Oils bought at the grocery store, on amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target…etc, you are not getting pure essential oil (even if the label says otherwise). You are getting synthetic, made to smell nice, but have no therapeutic properties perfume “oils”.
